Аннотация

Самара расположена на берегу Волги, крупнейшей реки Европы, у места впадения в нее одного из самых больших волжских притоков – реки Самары. Казалось бы, город не должен испытывать недостатка в воде, но поскольку место для крепости его основателями было выбрано на возвышенном мысе левого волжского берега, подача и подвоз воды из Волги на территорию Самары всегда оказывались проблемой, даже после того, как она получила статус города.

Criteria for evaluation of the «Samarskie Kommunal’nye Sistemy»’s activities for 2012–2015 period

Summary

The data on the activities of «Samarskie Kommunal’nye Sistemy» LLC in achieving the criteria set in the municipal property – Samara water supply and wastewater disposal systems – leasing contract of March 14, 2012, for three years are quoted. The criteria include: reduction of the failure rate of the water supply system; reduction of sewer blockages; reduction of the specific power consumption in water supply; reduction of the specific power consumption in wastewater disposal; reduction of water losses. The actual data on the operation of «Samarskie Kommunal’nye Sistemy» LLC for 2012–2015 period proves conclusively that all the five criteria of the technical performance indicators set in the leasing contract have been fulfilled by the target date. The amounts of finance and measures that provided for meeting the requirements of the tender application are presented.

Selection of efficient chemicals for low turbid water purification  from surface water sources

Summary

The results of laboratory study of selecting chemicals and optimal dosage for the purification of low turbid water of the Saratov water reservoir are presented. The laboratory tests of aluminium polyoxychlorides (14 kinds) and aluminium sulfate (16 kinds) were carried out. Coagulants manufactured by domestic and foreign manufacturers were studied. The optimal dosages of coagulants and flocculants were determined. Two of the coagulants studied were selected that could ensure the maximum degree of water clarification at the minimum concentration of residual aluminium and permanganate value in drinking water. It was stated that water treatment exclusively with coagulants with subsequent sedimentation and filtration ensured meeting the state drinking water standard. The results of the experimental studies of coagulation of low turbid water of the Saratov water reservoir showed that the maximum water clarification was achieved by sedimentation at the optimal coagulant dosage of 9.6 mg/dm3 for Al2O3 and 0.2 mg/dm3 flocculant dosage. At that the pollution loading on filters is reduced and the filter run increases.

Study of the technologies of wash water treatment  from contact clarifiers

Summary

The results of the laboratory studies of twelve flocculant kinds used for wash water treatment from contact clarifiers are presented. The optimal dosages of flocculant were determined. Two of the flocculants studied were selected that could ensure the maximum degree of water clarification at the minimum concentration of residual aluminium, residual polyacrylamide and suspended solids in water. It was stated that the sludge generated during water clarification had 99.9% moisture content. It was proved that Flopam FO 4240 PWG and Маgnafloc LT-22S flocculants ensured good sedimentation of pollutants present in wash water. Possible use of chemical and chemical free filtration in «Fil’tr Polimernyi» manufactured by «Samenviro» LLC as well as of membrane filtration in UNA-620A hollow fiber module (based on Microza® pressure membranes) in a pilot plant rendered by «Pall Evrasia» LLC was considered.

The experience of using geographical information technologies  and program-calculation complexes in searching unaccounted-for-water losses in the Samara water supply system

Summary

The use of geographical information systems and program-calculation complexes for hydraulic simulation of water supply systems provides for minimizing the labor intensity and calculation time, carrying out more complete and high-quality analysis of the results obtained, and applying efficiently in practice of searching unaccounted-for-water losses in the water distribution networks. The elimination of water losses provides for reducing the operating expenses, introducing most economical operation method, improving the operating reliability of each separate element and the entire system. The introduction of ZuluHydro 7.0 geographical information system and hydraulic simulation designed by Polyterm Russian company at the facilities of «Samarskie Kommunal’nye Sistemy» LLC ensured 38% reduction of the delivery water volume into the local zone network, 8 m w. c. reduction of the output pressure at the main pumping station, formation of the algorithm of actions in searching unaccounted-for-water losses (technical and commercial), and its extrapolation on the entire Samara water supply system.

Energy-efficient principle of upgrading the air blower house  at the Samara municipal wastewater treatment facilities

Summary

As a key and economically advantageous measure on energy efficiency and investment return in the field of wastewater disposal «Samarskie Kommunal’nye Sistemy» Company approves the processes of air supply regulation at the municipal wastewater treatment facilities. A big complex of the air blower house has been designed and successfully implemented by improving the typical design projects for the RF conditions developed by SoiuzvodokanalNIIproject Institute for the estimated supply of 132 144 Nm3/h. The specific features of building and assembly works when installing 15 ton units under the conditions of the limited capacity of the hoisting equipment (9 tons) are set. The mechanical rotary blade principle of fan regulation was adopted as a basis of the energy saving solution. At the first implementation stage under the conditions of the lack of an operating automated process control system 26.1% reduction of the specific power consumption was recorded at the average specific power consumption of 22.39 kW/1000 Nm3. The engineering design reflects possible 45–100% regulation of air supply to the aeration tanks as well as its relation to the consumed power of 1273.2–2674.2 kW (for 20 °C input temperature, 50% relative humidity). Two-loop scheme of the automated control system for «aeration tank gate valve control unit – blower unit group» is presented. The analysis of the fan testing at the manufacturer’s factory is given. The parameters of regulating centrifugal air blowers by two control actions: of regulated diffuser at the outlet and inlet guide vane unit are presented. The mathematical method of recalculating the characteristics of air blowers with the use of the «degree of control» basic concept was developed and experimentally verified. The use of the method proves the wide range of the running characteristics of regulated units for all the year seasons, the mode of combined operation of one non-regulated and three regulated air blower units for the experimental work period.

The experience of introducing variable-frequency electric drives of pumping units

Summary

Regulating the rotation speed of pumping unit rotors at the pumping stations of the second and third lift of the Samara pumping-filtration station has been suggested, tried and tested. The introduction of frequency regulation mode of the pumping units operation with the use of variable-frequency electric drives provided for 29.52% reduction of the failure rate of the water mains and distribution networks compared to 2013 and 25.58% reduction compared to 2014; 23% reduction of the power consumption by the pumping units of the second lift pumping station; 15.4% reduction by the pumping units of the third lift pumping station supplying water to the customers. At that the reliability of the water supply system in whole improves owing to the reduction of the network failure rate alongside with the quality of services provided by «Samarskie Kommunal’nye Sistemy» LLC.

Integrated approach to the upgrade  of booster pumping stations in Samara

Summary

The applicability of improving the reliability and energy efficiency of the water supply system of Samara is specified. The main me­thods and means of step-by-step implementation of the plan of upgrading booster pumping stations are described. The description of software and hardware system chosen for the implementation of the set task is presented. The data on the reduction of the total power consumption by 37 pumping stations is given. Frequency regulation of the pumping units operation provided for 40% reduction of the power consumption; the introduction of the adaptive regulating algorithm for the stations with parallel operation of several pumping units provided for 27% reduction of power consumption. The estimated reduction of power consumption with replacing pumping units after the introduction of the adaptive regulating algorithms was 18%. 8% reduction of the failure rate in the distribution network owing to the average pressure reduction in the distribution network and due to the improvement of the operational control efficiency by obtaining complete exact information on the process parameters in real-time mode was noted. The system introduction predetermined operating personnel downsizing and simplifying the organizational-technical measures for the maintenance of the pumping stations. The criteria expedient to be used in estimating the operation efficiency of the stations are indicated. The diagrams of the operation parameters of a number of upgraded pumping stations are presented. The recommendations on the further upgrade of the booster pumping stations on the Samara territory are quoted.

Integrated upgrade of the Samara municipal wastewater treatment facilities

Summary

The experience of «Samarskie Kommunal’nye Sistemy» LLC in designing, constructing and upgrading the municipal wastewater treatment facilities with a capacity of 450–750 thousand m3/day is presented. Considering the adverse ecological state of the midstream and downstream of the Volga River the task of improving the efficiency of wastewater treatment is of top priority that has been approved by the Program adopted by the Department of Energy and Public Utilities of the Samara Area for 2013–2019. The results of retrofitting wastewater biological treatment technology on the basis of UCT Process with unique zone and recycling layout barrangement by modifying the existing capacities of four-corridor aeration tanks are presented. The justified technical solutions of the key facilities that determine the energy and structural efficiency of the project of upgrading the air blower house with the use of mechanically regulated air blowers (the capacity range of each 59.4–132.1 thousand Nm3/h) and constructing two sludge pumping stations with 15000–27360 m3/h regulated wastewater flow are set. The process automated control system has been introduced. The tied to time design works required fast and efficiency calculation methods with the use of process simulation modeling in GPS-X environment (ASM2d model), computerized fluid dynamics – in ANSYS Fluent environment. The prediction of the dynamics of the treatment efficiency changing within 24 hours while ensuring average daily concentrations in mg/l – suspended solids – 15.5; BOD5 – 5.7; COD – 34.9;
N–NH4 – 0.25; N–NO2, N–NO3 – 7.02; P–PO4 – 0.68 is given. Relatively high washout of suspended solids is caused by the significant design value of sludge index 150 сm3/g. In the implementation phase of the environmentally efficient measures the construction of tertiary treatment facilities valued at 400 million rubles (about 30% of the total cost of the upgrade of the entire facilities) was rendered economically unviable. Before commissioning the actual energy saving of 13 mln kW·h/year including 8.8 mln kW·h/year owing to the replaced air blowers, 4.2 mln kW·h/year owing to the sludge pumping stations with submerged pumps that replaced airlift was achieved. The performance targets of the projects and the technical solutions applied measure up to the best available technologies.
